My Memory
The Story
MyBrainIsGettingABitRusty - that's what I though over a year ago. Now when I'm making slow progress with
MyJapanese, I can actually appreciate, how big a hit my cognitive capacity has taken as a result of multi-year idleness.
My excuse is, I don't seek personal superiority, the way of material self-development is not appealing to me by its destination. On the other hand, a kind of free-will self-humiliation seems to open the doors leading to the places most coveted.
Excuse or no excuse, I am a bit apalled that my mind has been turning from a sharp (but unguided) instrument into a brick. At the moment, I think this has to slow down and stop.
The Paltry State
I thank my brain for filtering out all the information I don't need from the input streams. Unfortunately, it has been far too enthusiastic about it. If I suddenly close my eyes during casual browsing, I'm not able to reproduce the last 3 words I've just read. Even in the unlikely case that my brain sucked all their essence into my super-visionary sub-consciousness, it's still quite an unpleasant feeling. They say an average guy can arbitrarily repeat the last 5-9 words in any stream. Not me.
