Pixel Cancer

In February 2009 my Nec MultiSync 1760NX monitor developed a few dead pixels. Within a week, they grew into a cluster of hundreds, threatening to render the monitor unusable. Since the growth is to adjacent pixels only, it's kinda logical to call it "pixel cancer". It's not unheard of, but quite rare in comparison to other monitor problems. In this page, I try to learn more about it.
