Temporary Disenchantment
TD is known to most addicts, it usually happens right after an act of satisfaction of their drive. It doesn't happen at early stages of addiction, but becomes more and more acute along the way.
Moments of TD can last anywhere from a few minutes to months, depending on a huge set of factors.
TD can be useful in curing the addiction it's associated with. The dangerous way is to willfully cause severe moments of TD, which, coupled with feelings of overall sickness and misery can get engraved in your mind and help you fight the drive.
A safer, but possibly less effective way, can involve prolonged meditation on images of moments of TD in your memory. A good way to reinforce the meditations is to read up lots of different materials on the harm your addiction might cause, focusing on the points which invoke disgust in you.
When the drive is removed (without satisfying it) TD usually becomes permanent, or in other words, the "enchantment" goes away with the drive.
